The Home of Our Sustainability Journey

Kenco has always championed positive change with great tasting coffee that inspires a better today.

100% responsibly Sourced coffee

2024

For the first time, Kenco’s 100% responsibly sourced coffee will be communicated on pack in 2024. This is part of our broader JDE Peet’s journey towards 100% responsibly sourced coffee, tea, and palm oil by 2025.

Pioneering home recyclable paper refills

2024

In a UK&I first, Kenco transitions its instant coffee refills into paper – marking a breakthrough for sustainable packaging in the category and enabling
consumers to refill their Kenco jars and recycle their refill packs at home.

Meet our new plant-based lattes

2023

Launched our new plant-based frothy coffee range – a delicious and sustainable alternative to dairy. They’re rich, creamy and low in fat and sugar too.

Minimising our footprint

2022

Our frothy coffee range had 27% of it's packaging weight removed to minimise and reduce packaging waste.

Coffee VS Gangs

2014-2016

Back in 2014, we introduced our Coffee vs Gangs initiative through an iconic TV campaign. Through this programme, we offered opportunities and education for young people withn coffee-farming communities in Honduras, where gang violence is rife.

Upcycle Partnership with Terracycle

2012

We partnered with Terracycle to uplift communities by placing coffee plastic collection points in public locations throughout the UK, upcycling the collected
materials into community objects such as park benches, watering cans, and waste bins.

Official Partner of Macmillan Coffee Morning

2010-2013

As the official partner of the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, Kenco supported the event for 3 consecutive years, including providing hosting kits and running competitions. For every Kenco 200g jar purchased with a Macmillan sticker, we proudly contributed 5p to Macmillan for every customer that texted to donate.

Pioneering Eco Refills

2009

Proudly the first major coffee company to launch Eco Refills, Kenco pioneered this innovative way to reduce packaging waste – with each refill pack using 97% less packaging than our 200g glass jars, per gram of coffee. To raise awareness of this new pack format, we had an amusing way to tell our customers about it too!

Kenco champions female leadership

1995

Way ahead of its time back in 1995, Kenco was not afraid to champion female leadership – as illustrated through our TV campaign featuring Cherie Lunghi.
