Kenco plays our part within JDE Peet’s Common Grounds programme and our purpose has always been great tasting coffee that inspires a better today.
The first major coffee company to launch Eco Refills, an innovative way to reduce packaging waste, with 97% less packaging than our standard 200g glass jars per gram of coffee.
Supporting Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, with hosting kits and competitions. For every Kenco 200g jar purchased with a Macmillan sticker, Kenco contributed 5p to Macmillan for every customer that 'text to donate'.
Partnering with Terracycle to uplift communities by placing coffee plastic collection points in public locations throughout the UK and upcycling the collected materials into community objects such as park benches, watering cans, and waste bins.
In 2014, Kenco introduced the iconic Coffee vs Gangs initiative, a programme to generate opportunities and education for young people in Honduras.
In 2022, Kenco reduced its frothy coffee packaging by 27% to reduce our packaging waste.
Launching plant-based frothy coffee, offering a sustainable alternative to dairy. It’s rich, creamy and low in fat and sugar too.
In a UK&I first, Kenco transitions instant coffee refills from plastic to paper - marking a breakthrough for sustainable packaging in the category.
For the first time, Kenco’s 100% responsibly sourced coffee will be communicated on pack in 2024. This is part of our broader JDE Peet’s journey towards 100% responsibly sourced coffee, tea, and palm oil by 2025.
